Framing the spaces between the known and the unknown, Danny J. Sánchez subverts scale and perspective to expose whole worlds in infinitesimal expanses. In mere millimeters, Sánchez conveys the vastness of the universe; Nature, laid bare, in its incalculable cognizance.

Danny is a Los Angeles based gemologist and artist, specializing in photomicrography. He’s a graduate of the Gemological Institute of America in Carlsbad, California and is self-taught in the art of photomicrography.
Initially inspired by the Photoatlas of Inclusions in Gemstones by Eduard Gübelin and John Koivula, Danny’s images are thoughtfully created, leveraging his gemological knowledge through meticulously-tuned photography tools. His exhibitions include Art Basel Miami and publications include Wired, Vice and Smithsonian Magazine.
