Special Agent (SA) Daniel Gimenez of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Dallas Division is assigned to the FBI Dallas Violent Crimes Task Force (DVCTF), and specializes in jewelry crime, violations that include interference with interstate commerce by robbery (Hobbs Act robbery), criminal enterprises and fugitives. Specifically, SA Gimenez has investigated members and associates of a criminal enterprise that targeted traveling jewelry salesmen for robbery throughout the United States for the past four years.
The presentation will be a case study surrounding the methods and modes of operation of members and associates of a criminal enterprise that targeted traveling jewelry salesmen for robbery throughout the United States. The presentation will include surveillance video of actual robberies of traveling jewelry salesmen and a take-over style robbery in the Dallas area, and best practices to reduce chances of being a victim.
