Carin is the amazing woman behind Carin Susann Designs as well as a former Intellectual Property attorney. Carin will be covering topics ranging from Licensing, Trademarks, Design Protection and Confidentiality Agreements to Copyright Protection.
That's a lot of legal information!

We will gather to discuss legal concerns around running a creative business and Carin is the perfect person to guide us through this information.

Carin Riekes Parcel is a recovering Intellectual Property attorney in the practice area of trademarks, trademark infringement, copyright and IP licensing.
After graduating law school and practicing for a few years in Chicago, she moved to Seattle with her family and received her LLM in Intellectual Property Law at University of Washington School of Law. While practicing law in Chicago, she completed her Diamond Grading and Colored Stone Grading Degrees from the GIA distance learning program. She continued to be intrigued by the jewelry industry and finally made the choice to leave law and pursue fine jewelry designing. She opened Carin Susann Designs during the pandemic and provides unique fine jewelry designs as well as consultations on custom or repurposed pieces.
Does she miss practicing law? Nah. But does she love a good debate? ...Just ask her husband.
