Peggy Guggenheim was a fascinating character. Born to a wealthy New York family she used her money to collect modern art, modern artists, and earrings. This lecture will be about all three topics and will be presented by Elyse Zorn Karlin.
Elyse Zorn Karlin is the publisher and editor-in-chief of Adornment, The Magazine of Jewelry and Related Arts and is the co-director of the Association for the Study of Jewelry & Related Arts (ASJRA).
She is the author of the definitive book on jewelry of the Arts and Crafts movement, Jewelry and Metalwork in the Arts and Crafts Tradition, and the catalogues International Art Jewelry: 1895-1925 and Out of this World! Jewelry in the Space Age. Karlin is the co-author of Imperishable Beauty: Art Nouveau Jewelry, and editor of Maker and Muse: Women and Early 20th Century Art Jewelry.
Elyse lectures frequently at museums, private clubs, universities, libraries and for associations.
