Join members of GIA's North Texas Chapter and WJA Dallas on a tour lead by Paula Crevoshay of her new exhibit, The Shape of Matter - Through An Artist's Eye, on view in the Lyda Hill Gems and Minerals Hall at the Perot Museum of Nature & Science. The tour will be followed by a lecture and lunch.
Paula's works have captivated hearts for decades, from jewelry connoisseurs to celebrities and amateur gem buffs. Like generations of artists before her, Paula is fascinated by nature. She knows that our sense of wonder in the face of nature inspires both art and science. From a very young age, while she was learning about the properties and techniques of her materials, Paula has been absorbed with understanding how and why everything behaves the way it does. She maintains that knowledge of science is necessary to create fine art masterworks.
Her new exhibit at the Perot Museum showcases a curated collection of her stunning nature-inspired creations. In addition to approximately 70 pieces, including a world museum debut of Sea Star (pictured above), the exhibit will include loose gems and minerals, all displayed within their respective crystal systems. The exhibition illuminates the link between minerals, gems and jewelry while providing a path to learn more about intricate crystal structures.
We hope you can join us for what is sure to be a delightful and inspiring morning and afternoon!
