Taras Shalay – Managing Director-Midwest Region – Jencap Insurance Services

Taras entered the insurance field in 2007, initially working as a company underwriter at Philadelphia Insurance Company, where he helped create one of the first standalone cyber policies. Moving to wholesale brokerage in 2011, he focused on Cyber Liability, eventually becoming Regional Managing Director of Professional Lines at Burns & Wilcox. Taras has taught continuing education courses nationwide on Cyber Liability, serving as a key resource in understanding Cyber and Professional Liability complexities. In 2019, he joined Special Risk Facilities, Inc. as Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager. Taras is also recognized within the MAIA, receiving the YAC Master Award in 2015 and holds a Masters in Economics from Western Michigan University.

Neil's career started with a strong focus on website technologies, Internet marketing, and digital security, mainly working on large projects in both the private and public sectors. His work evolved into specializing in Internet strategies and managing e-commerce and website risks, which included understanding the interaction between technology, legal issues, and insurance cover.
