WJA Dallas| An interactive immersion into East Africa's most producing and successful mines in the 21st Century

Date(s): April 15, 2021

Time: 6:00 PM  CST - 7:00 PM  CST

Join us for an evening with WJA Dallas member Robert Gessner!

Robert will be giving us an interactive immersion into East Africa's most producing and successful mines in the 21st century.

Robert Gessner is founder and CEO of Gessner Gems. He has spent his 19-year career in
the colored gemstone world, starting initially in the mines. As a trained
professional geologist, he spent a total of 13 years on some of the world’s most
famous large-scale and professionally run mines, namely TanzaniteOne for
tanzanite and Gemfields’ Kagem Mine for emeralds. Robert had the responsibility of
exploration, mining, production, and planning of the projects.
In 2015, Robert ventured from Africa to the United States to get his graduate
gemologist certification at the Gemological Institute of America. Following the
completion of the geology course, he started Gessner Gems, which sought to
educate a new generation of online consumers and provide clarity around
colored gemstones as well as a fresh look at how colored gemstone jewelry can
be matched and paired with other jewelry and within someone’s daily wardrobe.
In addition to his experience in the mines, he has spent three years working
directly with clients at a top Dallas retailer. He has helped hundreds of clients find
their perfect piece, whether that is the timeless diamond engagement ring, a
gift for a special occasion, or an upgrade to celebrate life’s greatest milestones.
With this background, he has the insight and expertise to be the personal
jeweler that can help you find that piece that will be cherished forever.
