Jennifer
Gandia,
Owner,
Greenwich Jewelers, NYC
“A love-worn necklace or ring can offer a constant reminder of not just something beautiful but a beautiful life, too. And like a favorite photo, jewelry has that remarkable power to preserve special moments like nothing else.”
It was this exact sentiment that inspired Carl and Milly Gandia to open Greenwich Jewelers in downtown New York City in 1976, a boutique jewelry store that put the principles of honesty, exceptional service and value alongside their devotion to exquisite design.
Since taking over full time management of the store in October 2009,
Carl and Milly’s children, sisters Jennifer and Christina Gandia, have continued to run Greenwich Jewelers with the traditions their parents began more than 30 years ago.
Jennifer Gandia had been working at Nars cosmetics for several years when the World Trade Center was attacked, forcing her parents to close their business as a result of the store’s proximity to the site. It was during this 10 month closure, while Jennifer helped her parents get the store back on its feet and into a new location, that she discovered her true passion – to help people express their feelings and celebrate their milestones through/with jewelry and to make other's dreams come true.
Today, in addition to maintaining Greenwich Jewelers renowned jewelry collection (including custom pieces), Jennifer scours the globe to bring together the most exciting, established and emerging jewelry designers in store, many of whom craft locally using ethical sources, recycled metals, and socially conscious practices.
Jennifer's eye for distinctive design has helped make Greenwich Jewelers one of the premiere independent, fine jewelry establishments in all of New York today.
